This presentation will show how implementing a plan, do, study, act methodology for improvement in an SPD department can have staggering results. After receiving complaints regarding the work of her SPD, Montello and her team identified problems and recognized that communication and teamwork were top priorities toward better results. After all new strategies were completed in January 2017, tracking of events began, and a challenge was issued to the staff to meet goals weekly. The conclusion was a 96.2 percent decrease in adverse events over an 18-month period.
