This session will help attendees understand how they can help mold novice nurses to their highest potential, share hindsight to avoid potential mistakes and help build confidence in new nurses.
Theresa Cowger is a perioperative critical care nurse with 29 years experience in the operating room with a total of 34 years as a nurse. She has a wide range of experiences in the perioperative arena – in both the civilian and military sector. In addition to a successful career as a clinical nurse and educator, she has facilitated and instructed others in the Periop 101 program and surgical technologist program. She has also taught and precepted with the 66 Echo programs and 68 Delta programs within the military – which are equivalent to the civilian curricula. She has proudly served 25 years in the United States Army as an Army nurse.
