OSHA and You!

This session will cover OSHA in the operating room as related to sharps injuries whether from needles, suture needles and or scalpel blades. Included are descriptions of current OSHA 1910.1030, blood born pathogen issues, reporting, inspections and fines currently taking place throughout the USA. Further Allan will offer discussions on PPE as it relates to injuries, hospital liabilities and maintaining logs etc.

Allan has established companies that have exported over $300 million of medical devices internationally and authored the book Euromed about management and support of international dealers. He has orchestrated global relationships with key opinion leaders in anesthesia and intensive care and the operating Room. Allan has been published in the AORN Journal on sharps injuries as well as ORsafe. Further, forged vital regulatory agency relationships, including Germany (TUV), England (BSI) and Japan (MITI) as well as a FIME lecturer and nursing lecturer for sharps safety and OSHA regulations.
